What are you doing July 1-4, 2004? Well, what you should be doing is attending the O.A.T.S. Bluegrass Festival Back Home in Benton, PA.

MerleFest 2004 in Wilkesboro, NC, will feature Vince Gill, Nickel Creek, The Derailers, Rosanne Cash, Natalie McMaster, Lucinda Williams, Donna the Buffalo, Bela Fleck & Edgar Meyer, Earl Scruggs w/Family & Friends, David Grisman Quintet, Mark O'Connor, Patty Loveless, Gillian Welch, Kelly Willis, Doc Watson, the Kruger Brothers, and many more. MerleFest is held at Wilkes Community College, April 26 - 29, 2004, Wilkesboro, NC. Call 1 800 343-7857 for more information.

Sundays from 3 to 5 PM Eastern join the Johnson Mountain Boys' fiddle player, Eddie Stubbs, for two hours of traditional country and honky tonk music from the 1940's, 50's, and 60's. Each week Eddie plays a wide variety of favorites that bring back memories of the "old times" a half a century ago. Eddie originally broadcast his show from the WAMU studios but now he belongs to the Grand Ole Opry clan in Nashville.

If you like bluegrass, then you have to tune in http://www.bluegrasscountry.org/ . If you are looking for lyrics to the songs on The Eddie Stubbs Show, check out this site.

Native Ground Music is a good resource for authentic southern Appalachian music and traditional music of rural America, the Civil War, and the Old West. Their gospel, bluegrass, and old-time folk music collections are excellent and they carry a full catalog of outlaw ballads, cowboy music, pioneer music, Lewis & Clark music, and railroad songs.
