"Stained Grass Window," a well-known and well-appreciated regional band. The festival will begin on Thursday, June 30, and conclude on Sunday evening, July 3. Stained Grass Window is a local five-piece bluegrass ensemble. They have performed over the past eight years throughout Pennsylvania and New Jersey. While they use the instruments normally found in a bluegrass band, this group draws its music from a wide variety of sources including jazz and gospel music. George Graham, host of WVIA-FM's Home Grown Music, who produced their first album, calls Stained Grass Window "eclectic."

As is true for many bluegrass musicians, members of Stained Grass Window have day jobs.
• Lou Eberlin is a contractor from Picture Rocks. He anchors the group with rhythm guitar and carries a substantial portion of the lead vocal work.
• Mark Doncheski is a motorcycle mechanic from Danville who plays banjo, mandolin, finger style guitar and bass. • • Bob Knorr is from Berwick, performing on guitar and bass.
• Rick Marcera, from Asbury, sings and plays bass, guitar, mandolin, saxophone, drums, and piano. He spent a number of years performing music on the cruise ship circuit.
• Ken Shafranko, a project manager for a Williamsport industrial firm, plays the resophonic guitar, commonly known as the "dobro." Ken also provides lead and harmony vocals and usually provides gently humorous emcee work when the band performs.

"Cherryholmes" In April of 1999, the Cherryholmes family put together a bluegrass band. After performing at many of the festivals in the Southwest, they decided the time had come to take their show on the road. In the summer of 2002, they took all of their possessions up to their home in the hills of northeastern Arizona, moved into their 1960 4104 GM bus, and set out on an adventure–playing bluegrass throughout the United States.

From the west coast to the east, the group now calling themselves Cherryholmes rouses their audiences, bringing them to their feet at nearly every performance. Many bands refer to them as “the group no one wants to follow.” More than just a family band, they have become veteran musicians playing traditional bluegrass with a fresh and exciting new energy.

Cherryholmes is Jere (Pop) on doghouse bass, Sandy Lee (Mom) on mandolin, mandola, and clawhammer banjo, Cia Leigh on banjo and guitar, B.J. on fiddle and mandolin, Skip on guitar and mandolin, and Molly Kate on fiddle. All share in the lead and harmony vocals. Their family trademark is excellent musicianship, nostalgic arrangements, tight harmonies, and energetic choreography around one microphone. Pop (the Boss Man) with his witty emcee work, along with Irish Step/Buck dancing performed by the rest make them a favorite at every bluegrass event.

"Mill Creek Boys" The group had its beginnings during the 1998 festival season in Pennsylvania when Brett and Don became acquainted and began playing together in the back-up band of a local performer.  In December 2001, after playing as the Mill Creek Boys with several temporary musicians for over two years, Brett and Don recruited Ed in an effort to obtain a more traditional bluegrass sound.  Doug played with the Mill Creek Boys occasionally through the last quarter of 2001 and joined the group as a full time member in January 2002. Although he played with the band on several prior occasions, Geoff has joined us as an official Mill Creek Boy at our Winterfest performance in February, 2003. With the addition of Geoff's resophonic guitar and vocals the band has achieved a full and unique bluegrass sound.

The Mill Creek Boys have performed at the Winterfest, Wind Gap, Jerseytown, Newfoundland, Southern Tier, 4 Sisters Winery, and Big Apple bluegrass festivals as well as the Sullivan County Fair, Roller Mills at Lewisburg and numerous other private venues.  The 2002 season marked the second year of the Mill Creek Boys as organizers and host band for the Highland Lake, Music on the Mountain Festival.

"Blue Moon Rising" Blue Moon Rising is one of the most exciting new bluegrass groups on the scene today.  Not only do they write and perform original, well-crafted bluegrass songs, they play those songs with a sense of style and taste reminiscent of some pioneers of the genre.  Formed in late 2000, their name honors 'The Father of Bluegrass Music' Bill Monroe and his legendary song "Blue Moon of Kentucky".
