Eye-Yee, Inc., presents the fourth annual OATS Bluegrass Festival ("Out Among the Stars") from July 3-6 at the Benton Rodeo Grounds in Benton, Pennsylvania. The music will begin on Thursday evening at 6:00 PM and continue through Sunday afternoon. Eighteen bands will be performing.

Headline performances on Saturday will include Second Edition, Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass, The Gibson Brothers, and Front Range.

Each day's events will feature musicians who are well known to the bluegrass community. Of special note is the Friday appearance of Charlie Waller and the Country Gentlemen, a bluegrass classic and the James King Band. Thursday evening and Friday will spotlight the hard-driving music of Bob Paisley and the Southern Grass and The Carters. The Friday/Saturday lineup will include Heart Strings, a very popular group from Nashville and The Bluegrass Brothers.

In addition to the national groups mentioned above, the lineup includes many popular, regional and local groups like the Stained Grass Window, which will provide musical sets each day of the festival. Other area groups include Stay Tuned, Outskirts, Low Profile, Travelers, Chester Johnson and Walls of Time. The 2003 OATS Festival will include an interfaith religious service on Sunday morning provided by the Rev. Al and Jean Lumpkin and Friends.

Bluegrass festivals are known for their non-stop music and most who attend will remain at the rodeo festival grounds for the entire holiday weekend, camping in tents and rigs of all sorts. At any time during the day or night musicians will gather at various campsites to play and sing this increasingly popular music. It is not unusual for the professional band members to join in such fireside "jams."

Tickets are available at the gate. A ticket for the entire weekend includes free camping. Tickets may also be purchased by the day. Benton is located 16 miles north of Bloomsburg on Route 487. Follow the "Bluegrass Festival" signs to the Rodeo Grounds.
