The Queen Mother's Report:

The June Meeting will be at the Old Filling Station at 2 PM, Wednesday, June 18.

There is a new red box on http://www.redhatsociety.com. A graduate student from the University of Indianapolis, Rilyn Gipson, is doing her doctoral thesis on The Red Hat Society and she is asking those interested in being part of the study to answer some questions for her. I am happy to report that the thesis is being written on the subject of "Successful Aging," and she and her advisers agree that studying us would be a great way for her to study that. We consider this a great compliment.

This first phase of her study concerns leadership. If you have time, and are interested in participating, I invite you to click on the box and do so.

Your Queen Mother, Joselle

WARNING

When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens . . .

But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
